Has a nice overview of the Soviet, U.K., and U.S. relationships in the 1920s-1940s and offers the opinion that the Cold War truly began with the Russian Revolution in 1917. Interestingly, looking at today's politics, the Soviet's long-view of infiltrating the U.S. and other countries with Communist ideology seems to have paid off. Some areas of the book could use more substance and backing,. 0s and offers the opinion that the Cold War truly began with the Russian Revolution in 1917. Interestingly, looking at today's politics, the Soviet's long-view of infiltrating the U.S. and other countries with Communist ideology seems to have paid off. Some areas of the book could use more substance and backing,. Amazingly superficial Despite the author's apparent credentials as an insider during the Cold War, this work is amazingly superficial. Spectacular tidbits are just dropped about without any pretense at corroboration and conclusions reached with little justification. There are dozens of better books out there.
