"Comeback Farms" according to Red Clay Country. Good read. I'm still trying to get through Allan Savory's Holistic Management book so Greg Judy's book has been an incouragement to keep reading. Greg Judy has taken a HMI class and visited with Ian Mitchell-Innes so he does a nice job of explaining simply what he's learned and how it's improved his farms. When I first recieved the book in the mail I read the Table of Contents and went straight for the chapter titled "Resist Opening Gates During Drought." My family and friends don't seem to realize what it feels like for me to watch rain clouds roll by and no rain drop to replenish our soil during drought. In the first paragraph Mr. Judy writ. B. Belschner said Risk Free Ranching, Part "Risk Free Ranching, Part 2" according to B. Belschner. Excellent book. Full of practical tips. However, I would have titled it differently: Risk Free Ranching, Part 2. Because that's exactly what this book is, a continuation of his earlier work. You'll find no redundancies in this book; it's all new material and new lessons. Details his experiences with multi-species grazing (sheep, goats, pigs), Holistic Management methods (hurrah!), building a grass-genetics herd, direct-marketing meat, etc. Highly recommended for anyone interested in grazing or ranching. Also, this book is available cheaper from "The Stockman Grass Farmer.". .
