… is a must read for the young and the old engineer involved in the generation, transmission and distribution of electric energyI welcome this book. It presents useful information in an accessible way to be used by students and younger engineers to build their understanding about the best practices in distribution systems. Short explains in a very clear language, using a minimum of mathematical tools, the basic phenomena and the mechanisms that characterize the flow of energy in our distribution systems. The author does not present just a data cookbook, but explains in detail the theory behind the equations. Short, provides an excellent balance between practice and theory, without being tedious. Each imp
A very useful handbook This handbook covers many important and relevant topics in distribution engineering with appropriate depth of treatment. Examples are voltage regulators, reclosing practices and distributed generation. Unlike a few other popular distribution engineering references nowadays, the diagrams in this handbook are clear, and the reference data such as cable and lin. "Electric Power Distribution Handbook" according to J. Hendrickson. The book is very technical yet easy to understand. The author, Tom Short of EPRI PEAC, covers all aspects of power distribution from fundamentals to lightning protection and distributed generation. I found this reference so valuable that I purchased a copy for each field office.. Five Stars This is a great resource for anyone working in the electric distribution field!!
