This book is a keeper, not one I'll be trading in at the local used book store in a couple years. As a collector of this music I was very happily surprised by the excellent selection of music here. A trip for lovers of fado Fado Português is both a picture book and a set of four compact discs.The picture book is a collection of scenes in and about the places one visits--in the poorer quarters of Lisbon--to hear authentic fado performances. The pictures are of good quality, mostly black-and-white, and convey an impression that you have just wandered in and met some of the people who frequent these places.The compact discs contain a diverse assortment of fado performances recorded across the past 35 years.
