Judge James Baker was appointed to the United States Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces in 2000. After graduating from college, Judge Baker received a Reserve commission as a Second Lieutenant in the Marine Corps. He then earned a regular commission at The Basic School before joining the Fleet Marine Corps. National Security Law This book is one of the best works on national security law for the national security practitioner, lawyer and policy maker. Judge Baker does an admirable job providing an overview of a broad and challenging area of the law, to include the role of a national security lawyer in government. I have used sections of this book in various graduate courses that I teach. I have found that the footnotes contain a wealth of information, to include more resources and references.
