Dial perhaps save the return adventure for a third book in the series. Without question , Dial weaves an interesting saga capturing a challenging time for the men and women who forged a life in the Rocky Mts. and on the plains of the far West.. "Three Stars" according to Amazon Customer. None. As good as Plews!! I liked Plews better but this was just as good. Almer Johnson has gone from inexperienced greenhorn to tough and smart mountain man. Cudge Strong's mixed blood son Yellow Wolf has come into his own in his own right. Both men are BMF's whose bad side you don't want to get on. Well written Arley and I pray that I can write as good of a story of the Fur Trade as you and many other great authors like Win Blevins, Richard S. Wheeler, John Legg, W. Michael Gear, David Robbins, Jory Sherman, D.L. Bittick, Lane R. Warenski and the late Terry C. Johnston. You are right up there with them. That is why I give this book 5 stars.
