STATISTICS: LEARNING FROM DATA, by respected and successful author Roxy Peck, resolves common problems faced by learners of elementary statistics with an innovative approach. Supported by learning objectives, real-data examples and exercises, and technology notes, this brand new book guides readers in gaining conceptual understanding, mechanical proficiency, and the ability to put knowledge into practice.. Probability coverage is based on current research that shows how users best learn the subject. Peck tackles the areas learners struggle with most--probability, hypothesis testing, and selecting an appropriate
Access to JMP? Rafe Purchased the book for the obvious sales pitch and access to the JMP software. I am 7 chapters in and I can say, without a doubt this has to be one of the easiest books on the eye and brain to read. Ms. Peck delivers on her promise to provide an approachable textbook which can be used by any individual with a serious interest in engaging the subject, regardless of prior statistical background.Unfortunately I can't say the same thing about SAS JMP. Today I received my denial of access to the Student Version of the Software (one year License) for not being enrolled in a "qualifying" college . "Five Stars" according to Courtney Hoffman. Wasn't missing any pieces and was in amazing snap.. Five Stars Everything thing I need at a fraction of the cost!
