"Be Careful of This Book" according to J. R. Johnson. I bought his book when I started a unit study with my kids on Brazil. I found the pictures and stories to be a little gruesome for most children. "Kuat spied a dead body lying on the riverbank. Something was crawling all over its decaying skin-a pile of hungry maggots." Complete with a picture of a dead body covered in flies. "He picked out the eyes with his beak and gobbled them up. Then he feasted on the rotting flesh." "Kuat slipped inside the dead body and lay very still." In the following story the boy dies and the mother is instructed to bury his eyes in the ground. And in the final sto. "FANTASTIC STORIES I NEVER READ BEFORE" according to A Customer. This book is full of fantastic stories I have never read anywhere before. I especially liked the last story, which is a ghostly tale set in the jungle. The stories are very exciting but they also give you information about the rain forest. Saviour Pirotta visited my school in London for our book week and he told us some of his favourite stories. It made me buy the book. Saviour writes stories based in many countries round the world, not just England or America.
