"Not Your Run of the Mill Bugs! Great Book." according to Rapid Reader. My 5-year-old granddaughter who is mildly autistic and has some trouble with verbal communications (but can read like a whiz), talked up a storm when we read this book together. A fascinating adventure for little ones who love (or love to say "oooh --- icky") bugs. Many of these are not your usual run of the mill bugs. Even some I've never heard of. We especilly loved the honey eating ants that people supposedly like to eat(oooh --- icky!), but I don't know who would really do it. I highly recommend this book for both the descriptions and the wonderful drawings.. Love It! P. White My son loves this book. We talk about the different bugs on each page - he thinks they're so cool. The numbers are a bit of an afterthought for him at this point. But it provides him some exposure, in a fun way, without sticking flashcards in his face.. GREAT BOOK! Oh my gosh, I cannot believe how much my daughter LOVES this book!!! I don't think she is especially science-minded and she has never shown any particular interest in books. However, she asked for this book every night after the first night. She still laughs that the "kissing bugs" bite each other on the face and about the "Mommy Longlegs" joke. She loved the thorn bugs page and it was interesting to learn about "beetle juice", which we have first-hand experience with. The other upside is the counting practice AND number recognition over 10 for preschoolers. All in all, I

this unusually well-written and well-illustrated book would be a good addition to a young learner's bookshelf.' -- Science Books and Films, January/February 1992. "The Icky Bug Counting Book is a refreshing change from many of the books designed for young children
