Very helpful, author breaks it down well and is easy to follow. Don't pay attention to the other silly review from the guy complaining about spelling errors, it's a book about how to use your camera not to learn how to spell!. Proper Noun said Buy it with the camera!. As all information ever divulged by Mr. Thorpe, it is done so directly and in detail. Quite frankly, Panasonic should probably hire him to write their manuals. It isn't so much that the manual is so bad, it's just that Mr. Thorpe's is better, and has a lot more input from an experienced photographer. It let me hit the ground running upon receiving the camera.
