Re: A return to the early days This collection and its previous volume are original stories told in the style of early Marvel comics Thor without the endless Odin grows upset with his son and takes away his powers and/or sends him away only to fall into a sleep requiring the prince's return to save Asgard. Overall, this series captures the fun-loving favor of the early works without the modern and endless shades of gray found in most superhero comic books today. For any young fan or older reader wishing for a . the Thor that should've been Marvel put out this brief series shortly before the first Thor movie. The focus upon the romance with Jane Foster and retelling the character's origin without a human secret identity were clearly influenced by those aspects of the film though otherwise it was a unique take.The art has a deceptively silver age [1961-73]feel to it though also a charm all it's own. lt took me awhile to get used to as it differs from most of what is currently out there but l came to appreciate it.
