"Not a casual biography" according to LE. Many books about combat pilots cover only the dramatic events of their operational careers. The better biographies cover the whole person, not just their flying escapades. "Warburton' War" is one of these better books. The author has interviewed many of Warburton's personal acquaitents and intimate friends to craft a literary profile of Warbuton's childhood, personality, devils, and demons. "Warburton's War" provides a basic background to war in the Mediterranean. Awesome book. Can 't put it down Awesome book. Can 't put it down. George Beurling was an amazing fighter pilot with a great outlook on his job.I am already planning to re-read the book and I just finished it.. "Great" according to Sam C. Fraser. A true story. If this was fiction, nobody would print it because Warburton's achievements and life are just too unbelievable. Yet he did it. If you are a military aficionado and aren't familiar with Warburton or the Malta story, do yourself a favor - read this book and Holland's book - "Fortress Malta".
