Not what I expected I purchased this book expecting to find some good recommendations for handling students with challenging behaviors. However, what I got was another book explaining 'why' students might present a challenge. (ie. hungry, tired) I was really hoping for very practical methods of discipline to help with classroom control when faced with these difficult issues.
Throughout the book, stories provide enlightening, sometimes humorous examples of how children use behavior to communicate. The authors build an understanding of what behaviors children use to communicate, what kinds of messages they may be sending, and how adults can ask six critical questions to better understand and meet children s needs.
