DESCRIPTION:
legal out-lines just what i needed. Perfect resources of checklists and questions It is incredibly difficult to sort through the scant resources available online for determining how to even start with wills, advance directives, etc. My mind thinks naturally in lists and planning, so this book is a great resource for giving you the questions you don't even realize you should be asking yourself. It asks the questions is a sequential manner, with each checklist building on the others, so that toward the end you're able to create a plan of care for your loved on. If you're faced with many ladders of decisions, this a must-read for asking and answering those tough questions.. Clear and thorough This book provides thorough coverage of complicated legal topics while remaining clear and readable. Most of all, I appreciated the in-depth discussion of all the different kinds of necessary legal documents, as well as the checklists on finding a good elder law attorney. I also appreciated that the sections are clearly labeled and it's easy to jump in midway through the book. A great reference source.
Each book provides checklists on a given topic to help caregivers know what they need to do as they travel through their difficult journey. Personally, while I seem to be able to quickly make lists when starting something new, I occasionally don't consider details that may seem trivial at the time but turn out to be extremely important later. Checklists include:How to To Talk to Your Loved One About Legal DocumentsResponsibilities of a Power of AttorneyResponsibilities of a Health Care AgentPossible Stipulations of Living WillsList of Considerations when Writing a Will and Creating a Trust About the AuthorsLaura Town is a professional medical writer, but more importantly, is a caregiver to her father who was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's at the age of 62. This book takes care of that problem and prepares you for future situations you may not have yet encountered. Not only is it devastating for the person who has the disease, it is also devastating for the caregiver.
