DESCRIPTION:
(Piano Solo Songbook). Our folio for Disney's lauded live action/animated hit directed by Tim Burton matches the soundtrack, with piano solo arrangements of a dozen songs from Danny Elfman's score (Alice and Bayard's Journey * Alice Decides * Alice Escapes * Alice Reprise #4 * Alice Returns * Alice's Theme * Blood of the Jabberwocky * The Dungeon * Little Alice * Only a Dream * Proposal * The White Queen), plus the single "Alice" by Avril Lavigne. Includes eight eye-popping pages of full-color art from this visually stimulating film.
"Oh, Alice Dear where have you been?" according to musicmaestro. All I can say about this piano book is, AT LAST Elfman is being recognized by music publishers. For years not much of his works were published in sheet music format. Prior to this, there was a piano book of Batman ( 1989), Batman Returns, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Corpse Bride. Each book didn't have many selections from the scores, and the ones where songs were included, the songs took the lead in. Fun, faithful transcriptions The transcriptions seem faithful. They are challenging but not impossible for a barely intermediate player (me). The page size and fonts are generous. The photographs are pretty but superfluous.. J. Mireles I purchased this for my 14 year old daughter who has taken piano lessons for about 1 1/2 years. It is almost too advanced for her. She has been working on it for a few weeks and has come a long way, but she definitely had to have her awesome piano teacher show her a lot of newer notes and methods. She has a great ability to play by ear so I think that made it a little bit easier for her. She hasn't given up o. year old daughter who has taken piano lessons for about 1 1/"Love the Music, a bit advanced though" according to J. Mireles.
