I love this series. I re-read this book this week, along with its predecessor "Fledgling". I highly enjoyed this second book in the series. This was a "break" book for me, in between the books I review on Love Bytes Reviews, and it worked perfect. It isn't heavy. It is a feel good fantasy with a couple spots that might not feel as good, but overall a fun, fast read. I've got the third book "Traitor" . Worthy second book in this series Murph01 Actually, I believe, a 3+ (and up from the 3 that I rated Fledgling). In this novel Jae and Felix finish their training at the academy, just barely escaping with their lives. And Becca is unexpectedly adopted by a dragon!I believed that the plot of the first book was too predictable; this novel definitely improves in that category: the plot elements are more interesting and unexpe. Excellent followup to Fiedgling This is the second book to what is shaping up to be an outstanding fantasy series. We have the usual mixture of elves, humans and dragons in this book but the mixture is done in a very interesting way. Some might classify this as a young adult type fantasy but I firmly reject that analysis as I am over 60, have been reading SF and fantasy for 50 years and have thoroughly enjoyed r
