historic aspects well done, but unbelievable plot disappoints The author knew her history and there was only a word or two that was too modern. And I thought the characters came to life. However the plot seemed contrived.Why wasn't Annabel's teaching salary enough to cover her expenses, necessitating her cousin Edward to augment it? Once the family's country home was rented out a number of years before, why didn't Annabel economize, supplement her income by tutoring, or start looking for alterna. Just loved it. What I'm saying is clear your schedule because once you pick this book up, you will not be able to put it down until you are done.
