Futile attempt at cultural studies Adrian C. Columbia Ryan (2010) attempts to cover the various topics within media and cultural studies, but sadly ends up contradicting himself more than anything with biased information and stereotypes. Although this was a great first attempt at a textbook designed for the graduate student, I found the overall material to be lacking and insufficient.. One Star Robert Hunter I just need it for class. I did not understand it.

"This is a sprightly and engaging tour around all the major points of reference in the field of Cultural Studies. Up-to-date and comprehensive in its coverage, with an array of interesting student exercises, it will be invaluable in the classroom and students would be hard pressed to find a more comprehensive and accessible handbook." —Paul Smith, George Mason University
