DESCRIPTION:
Bryan G. said decently fair to the sixth doctor. Honestly, this volume was much more fair and balanced towards the Colin Baker era than I was expecting after having read the Peter Davison volume. While there is some unevenness in the writing: for example, the author, in the middle of the vengeance on varos review, goes on and on about what a brilliant story it is, yet closes a paragraph with "I can see why they canceled the show" - the book is relatively evenhanded in its assessment of the Colin Baker era. Of course, the obligato. Brings Respect to otherwise Mediocre two seasons. I would strongly encourage reading this book before viewing the 23 season , "Trial of The Time Lord". The whole behind the scenes politics explanation explains the trials and difficulties of Colin Baker trying to act as "Doctor Who" despite having a hideous clashing costume and turmoil of a new companions and clashing egos
This is not how the show should be watched. This book is the fifth in a series that chronicles, analyses and reviews all of Doctor Who in the order it was shown, episode-by-episode, as it should have been watched. Isn't it about time you did the same? This book covers the Colin Baker incarnation of the Doctor between 1984 and 1986.. Everybody watches Doctor Who the wrong way. It's about an evolving narrative over forty years. Ever since the widespread availability of VCR's and their subsequently more advanced offspring, fans of the show have been able to watch Doctor Who whenever they want and in whatever order they want
