DESCRIPTION:
A string of comically stylized parent-and-child animal pairs say “good night” and “sleep tight” to each other in masterful couplets—a chick’s “cheep cheep” is answered by a chicken’s “cluck cluck”; a puppy’s “ruff ruff” is returned with a dog’s “woof woof”—all leading up to a human toddler and her dad at bedtime! This second title in a brand-new board book series on animal (and human) first words by award-winning author/illustrator Ethan Long is sure to make tucking in a lot more fun! Also by Ethan Long: Thank You! and Lion & Tiger & Bear: Tag You're It!
In Hi!, they greet each other. The last page features a toddler and a parent. Pleasant offerings. Each volume's penultimate spread presents all of the creatures interacting with a human child. From School Library Journal Baby/Toddler—Wide-eyed animals call and answer in these brightly colored volumes, giving kids ample opportunity for learning and trying out animal sounds. . In Good Night!, baby creatures and their grownup counterparts get ready for bedtime by saying good night in their own animal sound
"A family favorite" according to Rebecca Lemmons. Ordered this and the other Ethan Long books (Thank You and Hi) for my 18 month old son, and they quickly became his favorites. We like that they don't have a story line, so we pick out different things each time we read- from shapes, colors, animals, and the sounds they make. Super cute book for toddlers!. He is 15 months old and thinks the animal sounds are so fun. This is our favorite out of all the Claire My son LOVES this book! He is 15 months old and thinks the animal sounds are so fun. This is our favorite out of all the books in this series. Each animal has 2 different sounds which is fun.. sweet story (of a parent tucking a baby into bed) AO My one year old son LOVES this book. It is the book he grabs most often off the shelf and as soon as we finish it, it's back to the beginning. It's a really simple, sweet story (of a parent tucking a baby into bed) with great illustrations.
