Students are challenged to think critically about what they read and to develop analytical and argumentative skills that enable them to present and support their ideas. From the Back Cover Guidelines: A Cross-Cultural Reading/Writing Text, Second Edition, integrates classic and contemporary readings with essay assignments that emphasize the connection between reading and writing. Four major sections ("Reading", "Readings and Writing Assignments", "Academic Reading and Writing Skills", and "The Editing Process") provide innovative guidelines for reading, writing, and editing.
"GREAT" according to Tracy. This is a text book that my professor required. But after the semester, I decided to keep it instead of selling to other/ toss it away. The stuff it teaches is really helpful! I usually get C at my writing class, but after following the instructions in the book, and adding some efforts, I get an A-! cheers!. Barbara said Comp I TextBook. My professor uses this as our Textbook for English Composition If or International Students. It's very easy to understand and helps quite a lot! The back has interesting points.I'll definitely keep it for the rest of my Uni years to help me write better.. great Diose I bought this book because im taking ESL class and I decided to get it from amazon because was cheaper than everywhere.
A rhetoric that takes students through the progression of increasingly challenging assignments, from writing from personal experience to writing about course readings, and to writing from outside sources.
