Nothing is black and white in this story. The lines between good and evil blur until you don't know who you should be cheering for. It's a great read and the end will surely come as a surpr. This book has all of the things I look for in a novel.*Interesting cast of characters*Suspense (I was happily surprised to find I hadn't figured out "who done it")*Narrative-driven (If I want to visualize a pastoral scene I will go to an art exhibit.)*Part of a series (I like seeing characters develop over a series)I will be looking for more titles by this author.. This book (can't quite bring myself to call something so short a novel) really is best suited for pre-pubescent boys. I imagine they would get a kick out of the out of date, sometimes bizarre sexual undertones and entendres. Referring to a woman's parts as "little man in the boat" cannot possibly do anything more than make one wonder where the hell this writer comes up with his material.
