DESCRIPTION:
This book is horrible Kelrodin If you wish to learn Java, this is not the way. This textbook presents the material in a convoluted manner, taking the reader from subject to subject with the all the grace of a prisoner being forced between barracks. Examples are vague and difficult to understand, which works wondrously against the book's objective of teaching Java. I highly recommend this book to masochists and insomniacs, those who either enjoy pain or have trouble getting to . First edition is horrendous Hello!I own the first edition of this book, and it is the worst nonfiction book I have ever read. For what it's worth, I consider myself an experienced (but not yet expert) programmer. I own several books on the C/C++ language, Windows API and VxD, assembly language, and computer science in general. This is the only book on Java I own, and it will be replaced soon!If you are learning Java as your first language, or are not yet very comfortable pro. A good Java book Mohammad Waheed I think this book is not for someone who has no clue about programming. If you know any OOP then you should be fine with this book. Currently I am attending American InterContinental University for my MIS, and AIU selected this book for OOP. This book covers a lot of Java. Just in 13 chapters, you learn from Basic elements to Inheritance, Advanced GUI and Recursion.I will recommend this book to anyone who has some clue about programming, and will
The examples should go a long way towards teaching students about the importance and techniques of design." - Matthew Evett, Eastern Michigan University"My students this semester (using the Malik text) seemed to 'get' variables and when to use them much better than my students from past semesters (using a different text)." - Michele Weigle, Clemson University . "The programming examples are wonderful; there is plenty of discussion of analysis and design
In addition to extensive examples and exercise sets, this text offers at least one complete Programming Example at the end of each chapter that contains the stages of Input, Output, Problem Analysis and Algorithm Design, and a Complete Program Listing. This second edition of Java Programming: From Problem Analysis to Program Design continues to offer readers a truly student-focused approach to the introductory Java course. Malik's programming texts have proven highly successful for beginning programming students.. Utilizing extensive visual diagrams and accurate full-color code, Dr
Malik is a Professor of Mathematics and the first recipient and current holder of The Frederick H. Scheerer Endowed Chair in Mathematics at Creighton University.
