"Action, romance, & humor!" according to Sara. I picked up JUMP on a whim I had never heard of it and had nothing more to recommend it than the description on the back and the interesting cover. After reading, I have absolutely no idea why no one is discussing this novel.I'll admit that I was a bit worried about the climbing jargon when I first started reading. That's when she comes up with the great idea of running away with a climbing buddy to the Western wilds in search of primo rock. The downside is that none of her friends want to go with her. That is until Critter comes bouldering her way in the rock gym. They make off the next morning and make their way out to the Red Rocks. Hooking up with another climber, they manage to put in a new route and

From School Library Journal Grade 8 Up—P.K. All's well that ends well, and madness, at least in the case of Critter, seems not to be all that different from believing that one—anyone—might reasonably choose a road less traveled.—Joel Shoemaker, South East Junior High School, Iowa City, IACopyright © Reed Business Information, a division of Reed Elsevier Inc. Thing is, Critter's near-death experience has left him feeling great. He believes that since the past has passed and the future can't be known, one might as well live as purely in the present as possible. . H
