I also was interested in the book because it tells a great story of my grandfather I saw this book a while ago and was so intrigued. I had heard many of the stories that surround the history of Lake Bomoseen as I grew up in Castleton, VT and currently work nearby. I also was interested in the book because it tells a great story of my grandfather, Charles E. Brough. He began a "resort" on the lake, which was successful for quite a while. But the accuracy of the book is top-notch, as verified by those many stories from my childhood. My hat is off to Donald H. Thompson, the author of this book that captures the. "a must read" according to R Smith. This book is a must read for anyone interested in Vermont's Lake Bomoseen. It's a good collection of photos, memories and anecdotes that create a history of the lake.. "Bought as a gift and it was LOVED!" according to M. I bought this as a gift for my father who grew up going to Lake Bomoseen. I flipped through it before I gave it to him and I was really enjoying the pictures and what I read of it as I was perusing the pages. But my father went absolutely crazy over it. He keeps reading me parts of it over the phone, and asking me if I knew this or that happened. (Even he didn’t know some of the history of the early days of the lake.) But it brought back a lot of happy memories and for that, it is worth its weight in gold.
