Snook at his best The author, I. Snook Jr., wrote an earlier short book on how hospitals work, and that book went through a few editions. This book covers many of the best topics covered in that short introductory book and in addition offers information about actual hospital administrator positions.Hospital administration is an excellent area in which to establish a career, whether one is able to target this area as a college student or whether one is a career-changer but has relevant experience to offer and is able to make a successful career transition. As a student and young professional, completely new to the Health Care Administration profession, I had no prior knowledge of the various health care institutions and how they are organized. This book offered good, basic, easy to understand, information on the health care institutions in U.S. It serves as a good starting point. I read this book in one sitting as it is a small book with only a bit over 100 pages long.I wish it had more information on the various positions you can have as a health care administrator. The book addresses mainly the big-shot jobs like CEOs, VPs, and direc. Generic info, quick read Roni Lynn This was an informative book, in a general sense. Meaning, it didn't go into a LOT of detail, but it was helpful and a quick read. I did like the bits of inside information that only the author could have provided based on his successful and storied career in healthcare. However, I would have been better off maybe checking the book out from the library (couldn't find it) or a used book store. I will definitely keep in my collection though and use as a general reference. It wasn't very helpful when discussing HOW to find these opportunitiesagain, very generic with the advice. Most of
