I found the chapter on how to use PL/SQL to gather statistics for tuning the performance of your queries particularly useful. Th R. Jackson This book is a must if you need to learn how to use any of the advanced programming features and techniques in Oracle. It clearly walks you through the process of how to use Java in the database and how to interface with existing eternal libriaries written in both Java and C. Through out the book there is a strong focus on how to write secure applications both in Java and PL/SQL. There are even two chapters dedicated to the topic of application security. This alone is a strong reason for purchasing this book. In addition, . Highly recommended Lehi Thomas This book is McLaughlin's best work yet. The lessons in this book are presented so clearly that even if you don't feel adequate in PL/SQL or java you will get a lot out of this book. There are tons of examples and the illustrations are magnificent. One of the things I liked most about this book is that it is direct and to the point. There is no fluff wasting your time. The concepts are laid out as simply as they can be. The chapters about Application security were fantastic. Using the 2012 LinkedIn database breach (among o.
