"Another good book" according to TJMRAM. I always learn something from Pearl S.Buck's books ,and this was no exception. I had never heard of the migration of Jews to China.It turned out to be that their biggest problem was one that it has always been, and that is in intermarrying with the people aroun. Peony is a very good book to read--with surprizes I read this book as a book club selection, and was glad that someone had chosen it.The story is excellent; time and place is excellent, and of course Pearl S. Buck wasa great writer. I almost gave it a 5 rating. All in all, I am very satisfied.Oh, and the order. what a pleasant surprise JC Reader I accidentally found "Peony" while I was trying to find a book that would teach me how to grow peonies.
