Pastel Beauty This is a wonderful guide to pastels and color. Even if you don't follow this as a teaching guide, it is a beautiful book to look at and own.. Nice addition to the pastel library This is an interesting and somewhat unique book for the pastelist. Much more a gallery of the author's work with informative commentary than the typical art instruction tutorial. It has very little in the way of recommendations or specific technique demonstration, but does convey a great deal of information on how the author approached his particular style of landscape painting. No demos or tips so you'll have to synthesize what he did and what he said into a narrative of how his style might apply to your own work. One of the other reviewers labeled Mark. "Best book for pastel painting" according to VICTORIA. I have read or owned most books written about how to paint with pastels but this book is so wonderful and informative it beats them all. The work pictured in the book moves the soul.
