While I would not recommend this book for a beginner, it is a wealth of information for intermediate and above carvers. She goes over four projects in detail step by step and includes the painting of each bird. Many great ideas that are applicable for all carvings of other birds, I would recommend this book.. I have other books of hers, all equally detailed, with a plethora of photos accompanying the text. These books are far superior to other books on carving I have used.
