This volume and those that follow it introduce children to literature in a crafted way that brings together history, legends, poetry, and and fairytales in a way that holds the attention of the readers, whether they are in grade 1 or grade 12. and whether they have the stories read to them or they read those tales themselves. If I had to chose one set of books for my children, i. Book Lover said Four Stars. I was happy to find the original "Gingerbread Boy" story in this book.
