I'm planning to start a small farm and have been reading about permaculture for a couple of years. If you live in a temperate climate, this is the best book on the subject. It is filled with diagrams and interesting details about how to establish a successful system. The. This is a "never-give-away-book"! It's really a great book and worth every penny if you're interested in Permaculture in cooler climates.I was also a bit frightened by the price but it's a BIG book and the informations inside are priceless.I also tend to say it's better than Mollisons Manual because the way of writing is easier to understand for me (I'm german).So this is one of the books I will never allow to leave my house. ;-). A lot of information wellorganized; it's like a textbook for a college levelPermaculture course. Seems comparable to, but easier tounderstand and apply, than Mollison's Permaculture DesignManual. I'm in the PNW US but I think this book will be veryuseful here. Only compliant is the climate, etc maps ofbritian rather than the US :-)
