little book full of info MONA I have read this book so many times the pages are falling apart!It was my first book and only book about them that I had for years before buying other books here at amazon.It only has 71 pages, but covers all you need to know to keep a kingsnake.It has lots of colorful photos and is easy to understand.Although this was my only book for years, I suggest you buy several about Kingsnakes and Milk snakes(closely related), and also use your own immagination for building a healthy habitat f. ddan said Good book, a bit dated but still valuable for snake owners. I ordered this book along with another book, "Kingsnakes and Milksnakes" by Bartlett. Of the two, I think this one is better for first time snake owners as it is more thorough with what a owner needs before getting a snake. The pictures are very detailed and nice and would help a first time owner pick a particular breed of kingsnake. The background information is a bit dated, which makes sense as what is needed to raise snakes hasn't changed in years, but the actual information you'll. "Very helpful" according to D. Jacobson. This book is very informative. If you have or are thinking of picking up a common kingsnake, pick up this book, it will give you a great foundation and really help you to get going
