DESCRIPTION:
a thought about green acres linda martin i enjoyed this book about green acres immensely. i think all of stephen's books are terrific. and they are all well worth reading. but i wonder why mr. pat buttram did not want to participate in this book. didn't he care about the show? or even his mr. haney character? pat said he was writing his own book, but frankly i am skeptical about that. considering how the book came out in 1993 and pat passed away in 1994. and still no book from him so far.. A fun book to own A sneak peek behind the Green Acres phenomenon. Contains exclusive interviews, publicity photos, trivia & episode guide.. "Viva Hooterville!" according to A Customer. I saw Eddie Albert signing a copy of this book at a nostalgia event in Los Angeles in 1998 and I had to go out and buy this book. It's fantastic. You will need no other book to find out about this surreal and wonderful TV classic. Author Steve Cox has done a great job covering the bizarre characters and the exquisite cast of actors who made up this neat show. Actually, it doesn't make any sense, and The Hooterville Handbook brings it all to life with:-A foreward by Hank Kimball, your county agent.-Revealing interviews with the men and women responsible for this timeless television treat.-Behind-the-scenes peeks into the farmhouse, the Olivers' bedroom and the private life of Arnold Ziffel, the popular porcine star of the show.-A complete guide to all 170 episodes.Hooterville is still the one place in the world where the grass is always greener, and this delightful book will surely turn anyone who doesn't own it green with envy.. Say good-bye to city life, fire up the jalopy, and return to the pastoral pastures of Hooterville and the wacky world of Lisa and Oliver Wendell Douglas, where everything makes, er, its own sort of sense
It is nice to watch it as a grown-up because the show was a as weird as I thought it was. "Green Acres' is a guilty pleasure. It is a very peculiar show." --Matt Groening, creator of "The Simpsons""Oh fer the love of'Green Acres.' This show is now a part of Americana and this book should certainly be a part of your library." --Eddie Albert
