I is a good book if you don't know anything about reading music as it starts from the very beginning, but it does give you a good idea of where to start to write the music to go with your lyrics. I am sure I will refer back to it, but it isn't as advanced as some I have read. Would definitely recommend it to a beginner, or as a refresher for people that hasn't read music in awhile
