Multi-faceted Reasons Bruce The Rise of Western Power is an excellent starting point to learn of the multi-faceted reasons for the divergence of the West from the East. As the table of contents is available for review I will not list all the different categories. This is the books strongest point, as it is reasonable to expect that there were many factors which caused Europe to go from a backwater to take the lead. I agree with the author that humans around the world have proven adaptable to their environment given sufficient time for culture to develop solutions to the challenges fac.
