a "must have" for those interested in educational equality This book offers a broad introduction to the sociological study of education. Having purchased the first edition, I was happy to see the many updated chapters in the second edition. The authors have done a great job selecting key classical pieces as well as recent scholarship in the area, particularly relating to racial and class-based inequality in education.
