I have read many of jim cox's books and this is one of his best. Extremely well researched, and a bible for otr fans and others who may just be nostalgic.

Entries recount occasions, practices, or decisions which left indelible marks on broadcasting (listed by date of occurrence); the debuts and cancellations of programs; and births and deaths of important people in radio history-not only headliners but also less recognized individuals, from radio executives and producers to writers, sound techs, engineers, consultants, hawkers and impersonators.. A dozen other spot-checks, however, produced multiple follow-up results, suggesting that the absence of further Carney citations was anomalous. The book will be appealing to both the research-minded and the nostalgic.
