About the Author Ilyan Kei Lavanway earned a Master of Science degree in Space Studies from the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics from the University of Washington, Seattle. Mr. He served on active duty in the United States Air Force for almost fourteen years, fulfilling non-flying operations assignments as a Minuteman-III Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) launch officer, crew instructor and evaluator, early warning and space surveillance radar officer, and various academic roles including classroom instructor and curriculum developer. Lavanway is a passionate student of the scriptures and enjoys pondering deep subject matter regarding man's eternal potential, the cosmos, and the workings of God. He served two years as a full-time missionary in the Argentina Buenos Aires North Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
