Matheson DID write a script for I AM LEGEND and sold it to Hammer Films. Matheson was sent a 2-page letter of changes that were demanded (the letter appears in the book). Both Matheson and Hammer films declined to make these changes. However both the US and British Censor Boards had objections to the script. Here for the first time is Matheson's censored script. To this date the script has not been used as the basis for any of the filmed adaptations. Also included are his scripts for "The Distributor" and "Sweethearts and Horrors". From the Publisher Mark Dawidziak, best known for his work on the films and TV series "Kolchak" edited the section dealing with "I Am Legend" including an interview with Richard Matheson. Matthew Bradley (The Richard Matheson Companion) edited the section dealing with "The Distributor" and Matheson wrote introductions to both "The Distributor" and "Sweethearts and Horrors".
