This book captures the people living in Nicaraguatheir living situation, their pride, their devotion to family, culture and country. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to read something that is captivating from beginning to end. I'm so glad that I've found Mr. Martin's books and will continue reading them, waiting for each new one.. I started questioning why everyone loved it and my sister had begged me to read The first 25% of this book was a little slow for me. I started questioning why everyone loved it and my sister had begged me to read it. And then I kept reading and found out. Charles Martin ties details together so beautifully! I cannot recommend this book highly enough. It is not only a beautiful, touching, well-written book, but it forces some deep questions of the readers. I have read several of Mr. Martin's books, and this now takes it's rightful place as my favorite.
