and I wanted something that was fun and engaging I teach 6th grade and this book has defintely met my expectations. I needed some reading response activities to complete during a leveling group, and I wanted something that was fun and engaging, yet would still meet common core standards. This book was perfect for that. Each activity tells whether it can be used for informational text or literature (often both), and lists which of the reading standards it covers. It also offers extension ideas for the various activities. So far I've tried concrete (shape) found poems and Twitter responses and both were a huge success with my st. After 20 years of teaching 8th grade English, I have purchased many of these types of resources and this is one of the best. I have also successfully used many of the activities with my 6th graders..
