Super awkward. Except this time her heart is broken. The Clockwise Collection is light science-fiction (historical) time travel with a nice splash of young adult romance!. Over time Casey gains the attention of a handsome, wealthy (and unwanted) suitor, and something changes in Nate. The only thing that could make life worse is if, by some strange twist of fate, she took Nate back to the past again. Nate's slow to accept their new reality, but when he does he realizes he needs Casey to get back. Knowing Nate has an evil girlfriend waiting for him at home helps. It's the eve of the American Civil War, and protocol pressures Casey to tell their hosts that Nate is her brother. Casey Donovan has issues: hair, height, and uncontrollable trips to the 19th century! And now this - she's accidentally taken Nate Mackenzie, the cutest boy in the school, back in time. His nearness is intoxicating to Casey, but she keeps her cool by hanging a privacy blanket and staying aloof. Awkward. Which of course, she does. No one is more surprised than she is when they are forced to share a one-room workers' cabin. Plus, her best friend is mad, her parents are split up, and her younger brother gets escorted home by the police. Are those romantic sparks, or is it just protectiveness? When they return to the present, things go back to the way they were before: Casey parked on t

"A historical time travel with some amusing twists" according to Jamie E.. This is a light-hearted time-travel. Part adventure, some disaster, a dash of comedy and an edge of romance. While many things are not very well explained and the summary of the book pretty much covers everything, I did still overall enjoy it.Casey is a typical teenager who is just trying to live her life. Yet at random, unknown intervals she finds herself thrust back in time. Particularly the 1860s. Sometimes it is for a few hours, other-times weeks she could be stuck there. While she had learned how to handle and navigate these changes she is always fearful of touching others because whatever she is touching . I didn't agree with everything in the book, but it was a reasonably good read overall. I found that Casey was a bit one-dimensional at times. I did like her ability to adapt herself to the customs of the times in which she found herself. I didn't really like all the lying, in all time periods. The descriptions of the different time periods felt fairly authentic. Casey did seem to keep getting into really bad situations. I actually found myself wondering how she had managed to survive for so long popping back and forth in time alone. Nate's character was interesting enough. He was a little overbearing toward Casey at times, but not too much. The big reveal at the end wasn't really a surprise, but i. High-school Inception Ah yes, the good ‘ole days of high school. The adrenaline rush between football games, the energy radiating from the cheerleaders, the never-ending rush from hallway to hallway between class transitions, the mediocrity of school cafeteria lunch, and time travel. Wait, scratch that last part.Clockwise is the story of Casey Donovan, a high schooler who has the ability to time travel. The downside is that she can’t control it, so it happens whenever it wants to. This little disclaimer is the whole premise for the novel, setting our events in motion.Narrated in first person, Clockwise is very easy to fo
