Worst Textbook I've Had in 4 Years. N. Skachkov I hate to do this two the two Penn State professors that co-authored this book, but it is without a doubt the worst textbook I've had to use in the 4 years at school. I don't know if they replaced the Hibbeler book series or not in other schools. As a . I refuse to take any classes with these professors. Garth Todd This is by far the worst textbook I have ever had to use. Two of the authors are professors at Penn State and I refuse to take any classes with them because of their inability to write a book. Sure, they might be extremely good in their fields of engin. "One star gives more credit than is warrented." according to D. Knowles. Simply put, this is by far the worst text that I have encountered in my schooling. The pages are littered with messy equations and the examples take unnecessary steps to solve the problems. The pages inundate the reader with excess "did you know?", "do

Once students have fully mastered the basic concepts, they are taught appropriate use of modern computational tools where applicable. The first new mainstream text in engineering mechanics in nearly twenty years, Plesha, Gray, and Costanzo’s Engineering Mechanics: Statics and Dynamics will help your students learn this important material efficiently and effectively.. Plesha, Gray, and Costanzo’s Engineering Mechanics: Statics & Dynamics presents the fundamental concepts, clearly, in a modern context using applications and pedagogical devices that connect with today’s students. This sensitizes students to the fact that engineering problems do not have a single answer and many different routes lead to a correct solution. This methodology helps students lay out the steps necessary to correct problem-formulation and explains the steps needed to arrive at correct and realistic solutions. The text features a four-part problem-solving methodology that is consistently used throughout all example problems. Further reinforcing the text's modern emphasis, the authors have brought engineering design considerations into selected problems where approp
