Because it's a collection of essays and columns the author has written there is a level of repetition.. The author is a scientist who really knows and enjoys his subject and this shows through brilliantly. The book is an interesting and easy read for anyone wanting to know more about bees and beekeeping. Also a nice second step if you already know some basics.
