Janie said So Much for Vacation Time. Kennedy Layne is one of my favorite authors. I started reading her books with the CSA Case Files Series, continuing with the Red Starr Series. Fulfilling Promises is definitely a page turner. John "Trigger" Dixon is on vacation from the Red Starr Hostage Rescue Team for a visit to his parents and to check on his hometown friends. He comes into town his friend has been murdered and that Devyn Wilde is being questioned for her brother's murder. This book can be read as a stand-alone, but reading the entire series helps understand the characters. peanut said The team is on a break but the heat is on when Trigger Dixon goes home and runs into a friends murder!!. Kennedy continues to keep us on our toes as she tells us John Trigger Dixon's story when he returns home while between missions with Red Star HRT. His best friend is dead and his sister and the women he left behind is a suspect. This is a great read full of twist and turns that keep you guessing until the end! We get to see Gunny and Doc when their friend is trying to unravel who killed his friend. Rekindleing the feelings with Devyn is making it clear to Trigger he doesn't plan to walk away again when this is over. I recommend you get the se. The best This is Triggers story. He heads home on the team's two week break, only to get caught up in his best friend since childhood murder. He learns the prime suspect is the victims sister, who he hooked up with a while back. He takes it upon himself with the team's help to figure out who is killing the people of his hometown. Along the way he hooks back up with Devyn and does not want to let her go this time. I loved this entire book.
