DESCRIPTION:
Definitely for fans of old school Amanda Quick. With this one following Otherwise Engaged, it looks like Jayne Ann Krentz has stepped back from paranormal historical romance for a bit. While I still really want the final Ladies of Lantern Street book, I am enjoying her return to my historical romance roots. I think Amanda Quick may have been the very first ones I ever read, and if not, they are definitely the first ones I remember. So take this review with the grain of salt that is m. Barb said A wonderful historical romance with mystery and suspense.. Garden of Lies by Amanda Quick is a historical romance that takes place in Victorian London. This is not just a historical romance, but a story full of intrigue, mystery and murder. This is a different type of historical read for me, but a wonderful story and very well written by Quick.Ursula Kern is our heroine, and she is the owner of The Kern Secretarial Agency. When we meet Ursula, she is despondent about the death of her friend and. DiDi said great reads. I loved it. Reminded me a little of the agency that she was writing about with the girls that worked for her, cant think of the series now, but it was so exciting and not knowing who the bad guy was so thrilling. kept my attention the entire time! loved the characters. I love going back to the old days in her books. makes me feel like I can really picture the old horse and carriages and the clothing. very fun

Kern is off her head to meddle in such dangerous business. But Miss Clifton has met an untimely end—and Ursula is convinced it was not due to natural causes. There are dark rumors about Lord Fulbrook, and his gloomy mansion in Mapstone Square seems the logical starting point for an undercover investigation.
