DESCRIPTION:

fantastic lifetime of humorous medical events Robert W. Smith dr. booker is the fifth generation of family practice physicians (his son is an OB-GYN)in his family. having been a physician for 40 years, he accumulated a selection of humorous interchanges and put them in a drawer. after 4 decades, he assembled this collection and published them. they don't violate any confidentiality. it's great fun reading through some of the goofs and funny things that we say and do. humor is, indeed, the best medicine, or, at least, medicine is best when . Great read! John S. This book is well worth the $!!My grandparents both went to Dr Booker and I really enjoyed the stories contained in his book. They reminded me of Granny and Papa and the other folks down in Wytheville I recall from my childhood. It made me feel quite nostalgic for the 'good ol days'!. Amazon Customer said Origin of the title?. I thought the book was ok, but my real reason for buying it was to see if I could find the source of a nonsense saying that my father passed on to his family, and that his family has passed on to their children, to wit: "Ham, ram, lamb, sheep, mutton, bull, beef, bear, mink, moose, muskrat." Unfortunately, the book didn't have that information. Anyone familiar with this saying is invited to email me.

The humor is all the more engaging because it is set in a background of illness in which one would not expect such levity, but as noted by Romaine Gary, “Humor is man’s affirmation of dignity, his declaration of superiority over all that may befall him.”. From the time he entered medical school in 1963 until the present, Dr. Booker has been collecting humorous stories, anecdotes, quips, quotes, one-liners, and medical mispronunciations from patients, physicians, nurses, technicians, and others in the medical field. Booker put it all together. This delightful book is the product of over forty-five years of medical practice from me
