"High Performance C5 Corvette Builder's Guide" according to Steve C. The book is a disappointment, long on opinion and short on real data. Rather than an objective comparison of different options whithin specific catagories (e.g. "brake upgrades" or "suspension mods"), it's really just a chronicle of mods made by the author to his own car. It does have some interesting tidbits, but I wa. Jack A. Ballard said excellent. They sent me an autographed copy, it covered everything I needed to know about the C-5 corvette especially suspension and engine. Bob Cooper said Five Stars. One of the greatest Corvettes made, C-5 cars will always be popular
---Grassroots Motorsports, December 2008 . The High-Performance C5 Corvette Builder's Guide is a solid buy for anyone who already owns a fifth-generation Corvette, and the earlier chapters should be considered required reading for prospective buyers
Author Walt Thurn has been involved with Corvettes since 1963. There are also chapters on tweaking your suspension, drivetrain, brakes, and wheels and tires. He has covered Corvette racing and written many how-to articles on C3, C4, C5, and C6 Corvettes for VETTE, Corvette Fever, Corvette Quarterly, Corvette Enthusiast, and Corvette Magazine.. This book features tables, charts, color pictures, and build sequences to explain how to correctly modify your C5 for drag racing, road racing, autocross, or simply to heads turn on cruise nights. Almost 250,000 LS1 and LS6-powered C5s were sold between 1997 and 2004, and with buy-in prices dropping as a result of the introduction of the new C6, there has never been a better time to buy and modify a C5 Corvette. The magnificent-looking C5 Corvette was a huge improvement over the previous Corvette, and offers a great platform for performance modifications. Author Walt Thurn shows you how to upgrade your Corvette’s engine, from basic bolt-ons to serious engine modifications
