"Entertaining and informative" according to Sparkly Pinecone. Very entertaining account of Kelly's experiences in pro cycling. I particularly enjoy Kelly's self-effacing tone. He doesn't try to cover over his mistakes and misadventures. I read it with Kelly's voice and accent in mind. I would recommend.. If you like professional cycling read this book! Mr. Burruss S. Williams To preface this review I became very interested in cycling during the late 1970's. I think what I like most about this book is that it is about pro cycling before it became "Americanized". Before the notion that "second place is the first place loser" and you ain't jack unless you make the most money. Kelly talks about the various team directors that shaped his career, how some teams functioned and others struggled, the agreements that were "made on the road" among other topics. He also seems genuinely grateful for the lasting friendships he made through cycling. I don't think he . great bookawesome rider! Long time coming I say this is a must read for one simple reasonit is by Sean F-ing Kellyone of the greatest riders evera true tough guythe guy who used to do radio interviews and nod a yes or no to a questiona guy who won some of the hardest bike races in the worldectis it a good read as well? absolutely!
